Hologram

Jug made of refined beige clay, with a glossy black slip, dating back to the 3rd century BCE.

The vessel is similar to Morel series 5731 and features a piriform body, with a narrow cylindrical neck that extends upward. The finely shaped spout rises distinctly with an overhanging profile, giving the vessel an elegant and elongated appearance. The base is flat and profiled, while the vertical rod handle has a sinuous profile, enhancing the harmony of its proportions. The glossy black slip, evenly applied, gives the artifact a refined and homogeneous finish.

It has a height of 15.5 cm, comparable to a soda can. It is perfectly intact, with its original structure completely preserved and its surface in excellent condition. The slip remains bright, with minimal wear consistent with the artifact’s age.

3D Model

On this webpage, a series of slides illustrate the step-by-step process of the 3D modeling of this historical artifact. The images show how the final 3D model, enriched with photographic data, was obtained by modeling point clouds with extreme precision in millimeter measurements. The virtual model has been prepared for 3D printing, allowing for the creation of a tactile replica of the artifact.
